The tradition or celebration of the Day of the Dead holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed.
The small skull is made of ceramic earthenware that has been altered and kiln fired. The skull toothpick holder is highly detailed and finished in a bright color underglaze, the outside and inside is glazed a clear transparent non-toxic food safe glaze. It is completely waterproof for easy care, due to the small size please use caution if placing in the dishwasher.
**Each skull is hand painted and the design on the one you receive may vary some from the one in the photo.**
Great addition to any skull ware collection, I have a wide variety of hand made skull ware available including Day of the Dead skulls and skull ware in solid colors.
This skull toothpick holder is made in my shop from start to finish, all ceramic clay and glaze is of domestic origin.
