Magnetic needle minders are also known as magnetic needle holders, needle keepers, magnetic needle nabbers or nannys. This handmade tool is often used by quilters, beaders, seamstresses & crafters. If you do hand work, stitching or needlework such as cross stitch, embroidery, beading, needlepoint or crewel, to name a few, this tool is a must. Take this handy gadget to the next stitching or quilting retreat you attend, great for gift giving too.
My magnetic needle minders were featured in the Nov. 2013 issue of Cross-Stitch & Needlework Magazine in the fabfinds section on page 8.
How does it work, you ask?
A magnet is attached to the back of the ceramic clay shape, a magnetic friendly disc is used on the back of the fabric piece to keep the needle holder in place. The magnetic needle keeper will help hold your needle or pins in one place on your project. You can also use them on your clothing to help you keep track of the pins and needles. They work great with projects that are on stretcher or hoop frames too. You can also use a magnetic needle holder next to your sewing machine to help keep straight pins and needles in one place.
Each magnetic needle holder is hand made. Every holder starts from a lump of clay. The design is hand cut, kiln fired, all detail is hand painted. Each piece is glazed so it is smooth and the detail will not wash off, fade or peel.
Magnetic needle minders make great gifts, they can also be used as refrigerator magnets.
