These hummingbird feeder tubes fit all hummingbird feeders sold by Texas Hill Country Ceramics and can be used in many popular hanging bird feeders made using bottles of all kind with narrow necks.
Here are some tips for using Hummingbird Feeder Tubes.
For best results fill the bottle completely with cool nectar early in the morning. This type of feeder depends on gravity and differential air pressure (inside and outside the bottle) and temperature can affect the pressure.
Hang the feeder in the shade. The hot sun warms the liquid, which alters the air pressure and causes the liquid to be forced out through the tube. This can cause feeder tubes to ‘drip’ or ‘leak’. Hanging feeders in the shade also helps keep mold from developing in the bottle and helps the nectar from souring.
Hang the feeder where it is sheltered from wind. Being tossed and swinging in the wind can cause the nectar to leak from any type of feeder.
